My Story…

Hi, friends. My name is Gloria L. Sutter, and I am the creator of  “Dear Globug Books.” I am passionate about offering Art & Music Therapy to hurting hearts, and I am most recently drawn to doing whatever I can to help wounded children who are rescued from trafficking find restoration. Raising awareness of this atrocity is something we can all do together.

I was raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, and still live in that area today. As one of six children, I grew up in a musical and artistic family, and we all hung out around our Mom’s grand piano singing Dad’s vocal arrangements. My Dad’s sister, Aunt Rita, was an artist and I took after her. As a child, I was always sneaking off looking for a blank white wall to draw on, and draw I did.

At seventeen years of age during my senior year of High School, I was introduced to my best friend for life, Jesus, and have been in relationship with Him ever since. I have a beautiful daughter and an amazing grandson who are both the joys of my life.

I attended my first year of College at Mundelein College in Chicago with a full art scholarship, then transferred to The American Academy of Art in Chicago where I studied Humorous Illustration and learned most everything I know about art. In later years I attended the School of the Art Institute in Chicago where I discovered and fell in love with Art Therapy, studied graphic art at The Illinois Institute of Art, and then studied psychology in an online program.

As a writer, artist, and singer/song writer, I decided to bring all my creative gifts together and follow my calling to write and illustrate children’s ministry books to help children heal and find hope. I am also an Art Teacher and have a tender heart for children, and love to inspire them to discover their talents and unique giftings.

I write stories with original, relatable, and fun characters that cover topics and struggles that children face. One such story is about the recovering from a broken heart called, “Wingless Bird.” Watch as sad Blue Birdie, with the help of her new friends and Globug (who represents God), discovers her wings and finds her way back home!

I am “Dear Globug.”
